Interested in the Ellerbee Family Tree? Me too, that's why I began this project! The information you will find here is a compilation of several years now and several sources and is in no way even close to being finished! Thankfully, many cousins and relatives have found this site already and contacted me and I seem to always have more info to add! If you too are a cousin or relative, please contact me!!
I use ancestory.com to gather much of the info and am running a tree on there as well since that helps me to gain even more info. If you would like to see that tree as well, my user name is aimoore2007, please feel free to check it out as you may find some stuff there that hasn't made it here yet and visa versa. This is a very tedious and all-consuming job, so please be patient with me and if you have anything to contribute, I will be more than happy to add it!
Speaking of things to contribute! There is a way to add stories to this site and I would LOVE to gather stories from family about family. Maybe a Christmas memory you have about your grandmother, or a day on the farm with your dad - whatever it is, I would love to hear it and add it! Under Stories you will also find other information mainly from Bobby Graham Ellerbee's book: " The Family History and Lineage of Mark Ellerbee". Unfortunately, for the time being, I do not have such a book for the Hillsborough branch of Ellerbees who are descendants of John Ellerbee b. 1808 for which I am a part of, but that is one reason for this research.
As you may notice, my parents both died when I was quite young. When this happened, I lost contact with all of my Ellerbee side of the family and now I am compelled ( and some say obsessed ) with finding them ALL! I am learning that this may take forever as we have a HUGE family - and that's putting it mildly!! I did find my sisters in January of 2007 - Wow! What a GREAT day that was!- and I have met and talked to many more, but not all....YET!
Oh I must give a BIG thank you to my Georgia Cousin, Shelby Ellerbee who gave me a book written by another Georgia Cousin, B.G. Ellerbee, on the Family of Mark Graham Ellerbee. This book has proven to be invaluable and I still have TONS of people and facts to add from this book!
There is also another book written by Ronald Ellerbe " The Ellerbe Family History ", I do not have a copy of this book, but I thank those who have helped me out by using their copies!
The ELLERBEE family is the best family in all the world. Sure, we have our quirks ( some of us quite a few ), we have our history ( we haven't always been the nicest or most respected )and I'm sure we've had our enemies, but I wouldn't want to belong to any other family! I look forward to hearing from and eventually meeting you all! Please also check out the link for "The Ellerbee Family" this is set up by one of my Georgia cousins ( Charles D. Ellerbee ) and is a GREAT resource for those of you in that line.
